Torell Hector is a solicitor, in our Crime department, based in our Luton office. Torell works on all manners of Criminal Court proceedings. Having qualified as a solicitor in October 2022 will now begin to represent clients in hearings at the Magistrates Court.

Prior to joining Reeds, Torell worked as a Trainee Solicitor at Youngs Solicitors in Sheffield having moved away from Luton where he is originally from to complete his training.   From Training gained experience preparing cases on the full scale of seriousness from Murder to Shop theft across the Courts. Police Station Accredited for 7 years have represented at the Police Station on all matters including Murder and Terrorism.

Notable Cases

R v H – Luton Crown Court (Litigator) – drafted application to dismiss. In a 5 handed Class a Conspiracy. Defendant was 1 of 2 acquitted at half-time on the basis of no case to answer. All other defendants convicted.

R v JP and others - Sheffield Crown Court (Litigator) – Represented 3 out of 5 defendants in a gangland murder. 2 out of 3 of the defendants represented were acquitted of all counts.

R v R – Cambridge Crown Court (Litigator) – negotiated a plea deal on behalf a defendant charged with S.18, Witness intimidation and PWITS. Ultimately pleaded to minor charges which resulted in a suspended sentence.

R v AR – Sheffield Crown Court (Litigator) – drafted Abuse of Process argument for a defendant charged with Cultivation of Cannabis. Argument was successful and the defendant was acquitted prior to Trial.
