Emma Ćojder, Senior Legal Executive based at our Basingstoke branch [now part of our Reading Office], instructs and assists Neil Ronan, Junior Counsel of St John Street Chambers, who secures an acquittal for our client who was charged with murder.

Our client was one of 5 defendants charged with murder and conspiracy to rob in what was one of the largest multi-handed cases to be heard since lockdown began. The victim and one of the defendants were known to each other, and the prosecution’s case theory was that there was a dispute between them over a debt which lead to the murder. The defendants had all travelled together to Leeds from the Southampton area. Our client was alleged to be the “getaway driver” who remained in the car with one other defendant, while 3 of the defendants went into the property and assaulted the victim with weapons.
