“I just wanted to highlight to you what an amazing job Nicola is doing, not just for her clients but also in terms of keeping me in the loop and supporting me and really going above and beyond. Everything has been done in a timely manner and done in the most professional way. She has done what no other solicitor has been prepared to do and really taken ownership of the case and restored our faith in the system again.”
“I could not be happier with the care and service we have received from Nicola and because of this my partner and I are both actively promoting her services with other prisoners. I am part of an online support group and I am actively recommending Nicola for a number of parole hearings.
Areas of law:
Determinate and Indeterminate Recalls, Home Detention Curfew (HDC) Applications, Independent Adjudications, Parole Review for IPP & Lifers, Pre-Tariff Reviews, Re-Categorisation, Sentence Calculation Issues, Sentence Planning, Prisoner Assistance
Nicola is a solicitor and Team Leader in our Prison law department, based in our Milton Keynes and Stevenage offices. Although she started her career in criminal defence work in 2002, and still maintains her skills and knowledge in that area through her regular attendance at both the Magistrates Court and Police Station, Nicola specialises in dealing with all aspects of Prison law.
Her role sees her routinely attending prisons throughout the UK to take instructions from clients; and drafting representations in support of re-release for recalls and in support of progression for Parole, as well as expertly representing her client’s interests at Oral Hearings.
As an experienced solicitor and natural communicator, Nicola has the ability to relate to clients from all walks of life. She has quickly built up a loyal following of clients who seek her out time and time again, not only for her specialist knowledge, but also for the genuine dedication they know she has to helping them achieve the best outcome possible.
Nicola fully appreciates how important the decisions of the Board are to her clients, and she diligently prepares her cases, challenging the recommendations for further work and seeking obtaining independent reports from expert psychologists and psychiatrists wherever necessary.
