Micia Rigby is a Trainee Solicitor, currently working in our Magistrate’s team, based in our Bristol office. Micia works on cases covering a variety of different criminal offences, with tasks including case preparation (reviewing IDPC and unused material), drafting defence and witness statements, attending court, taking instructions from clients, and applying for legal aid in both simple and complex matters. She also has experience assisting in both complex crime and private client matters, including drafting representations for out of court disposals or case discontinuance.

Micia has previously completed a seat with our police station team in Bristol and is a police station accredited representative, providing legal advice and representation on a wide range of allegations to those in custody in the Bristol area.

Prior to joining Reeds, Micia worked as a caseworker and project co-ordinator for the Legal Advocacy Support Project at Bristol Law Centre. During her time there, she managed a number of student volunteers in their preparation and representation of PIP and UC/ESA appeals, whilst managing more complex cases herself, including advocacy at First-Tier Tribunals. Prior to this, Micia was a volunteer on the project herself and also completed voluntary work with the National Centre for Domestic Violence.

Micia Rigby is an excellent communicator with an approachable and empathetic nature, which helps her to easily build rapport with clients. She is extremely organised and hardworking and is always quick to support her team as needed. She takes pride in her work and ensures her cases are handled diligently and with care.
