Zoe is the clerk of the Leighton Buzzard branch of our integrated chambers. During the course of her career, she has amassed over a decade of experience working within criminal defence firms, litigating cases around Luton, Bedford, London, Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire.
In addition to her qualification as an accredited police station representative, and her ongoing training with CILEX, in her role within chambers, Zoe now maintains a number of cases before the Crown Court. As an organised, thorough and diligent individual, Zoe undertakes all aspects of litigation in preparation for client’s hearings; including the drafting of legal documents, identifying the potential need for experts where necessary, and reviewing evidence in liaison with instructed Counsel to assist in the process of taking instructions from our clients.
With an approachable and friendly nature, Zoe is naturally adept at liaising with the Prosecution, clients and the Court; and in establishing and building excellent relationships with clients, ensuring that not only are their cases progressed in a timely and proactive way, but that they are continually kept up to date with progress, and fully informed throughout.
R v S (2019) - litigated this high profile case for a client charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, fraud and burglary before Oxford Crown Court. Acquitted of all counts.
R v C (2018) - litigated on behalf of a client charged with sexual offences against his step daughter, possession of indecent images of children and breach of notification requirements. We managed to obtain an expert report which undermined the indecent images evidence meaning those counts were dropped before the trial, Zoe drafted an application to exclude his bad character and he was acquitted of all counts after trial.
R v O (2018) litigated on behalf of client charged with kidnap, where a generous Goodyear indication was negotiated and the client was then sentenced to 4 years imprisonment at Aylesbury Crown Court.
R v T (2021) – litigated on behalf of a client who was facing a 3 count indictment which included attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, grievous bodily harm without intent. Acquitted after a 9 day trial before Luton Crown Court of all counts.
R v M (2020) – litigated on behalf of client who was facing a seven count indictment which included arson, threats to kill, possession of a bladed article. Our client had 11 previous convictions for Arson and was initially remanded into custody before being secured bail. Acquitted of all counts after a 6 day trial at Amersham Law Courts.
R v F (2020) – litigated on behalf of client who was facing a 4 count indictment for historic sexual abuse dating back to 2002. Acquitted of all counts after a 5 day trial before Cambridge Crown Court.
R v R (2020) - litigated on behalf of client was facing a charge of possessing a firearm, was acquitted of all counts after a 4 day trial at Luton Crown Court.
