Jessica is a Trainee Solicitor, currently undertaking her seat in the family law team based at our office in Oxford.  Jessica obtained her Bachelor’s degree in History & Anthropology from the University of Texas before going on to complete the GDL, and finally her LPC and an LLM in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law Bristol.  She previously also had a role as volunteer Advisor for Citizens Advice in Wiltshire; advising on a wide range of issues including housing, family matters, domestic abuse, employment, debt and benefits problems.

As part of her training to qualify as a solicitor, Jessica now assists our busy team of solicitors and paralegals in the family law team in representing clients in both private and public law matters, including divorce, child arrangement orders, financial orders, and care proceedings. As a friendly and compassionate individual, Jessica communicates well and has worked with a wide range of clients from varying backgrounds, meaning that she is naturally able to put them at ease and help them to understand what can often be very complex procedures or legal issues.  Her dedication to helping clients and her genuine passion for law reflects itself in the work that she does in helping our clients in making applications for legal aid where appropriate, and generally in assisting the team drafting detailed statements and other documents required for Court.  She has also had the opportunity of attending court in family proceedings to further her understanding of the Court process.
