Janine is a paralegal and trainee legal executive within the Magistrates Court team at our office in Swindon. She joined Reeds Solicitors having already gained useful experience in the criminal justice system, through working with Crown Court defence teams and also with the National Centre for Domestic Violence where she assisted in taking witness statements for non-molestation and occupation orders, as well as attending court as a McKenzie Friend with clients.
In her current role, Janine has spent time shadowing our busy team of solicitors in Court and at the Police Station to assist her in understanding the vital link between her work, the solicitor and the client; and how she can therefore best help provide our clients with the highest quality service possible in her dealings with them and the preparation of their cases. As a paralegal, Janine is responsible for assisting in the preparation and progression of cases for Court, monitoring deadlines, liaising with the Prosecution and the Court to ensure that matters are dealt with efficiently and thoroughly, always ensuring that clients fully understand the process at each step throughout their proceedings.
Janine is known to be energetic, highly organised, with strong communication skills. She has already amassed experience in working with people with often complex needs, and particularly young people. She is approachable and confident, with the ability to simplify often difficult legal concepts to do her best to make sure that our clients understand their cases, and to help support them through the challenges that Magistrates Court proceedings can often bring.
