Jan Matthews

Jan Matthews is a solicitor and is the Managing Partner of the firm, based at our Oxford office.

After undertaking a Masters in Neuroscience at Oxford University, Jan studied Law at Oxford Brookes and the College of Law in London, before completing his legal training. Thereafter, Jan became an experienced and successful Police station and Magistrates’ Court advocate, practising exclusively in criminal defence work.

Jan’s primary role is now as Managing Partner of the firm, and as such Jan works closely with our Finance Manager and Practice Manager daily to monitor and ensure the smooth strategic and financial performance of the firm; as well as maintaining overall supervision over a strong group of Team Leaders and Area Managers across all of our busy offices. Jan is dedicated to overseeing the continued growth and successful development of the business through the discovery and implementation of new business opportunities, and the recruitment of talented individuals to the carefully cultivated teams of leading barristers, solicitors and solicitor-advocates that the firm is so renowned for.
