James Ferry is a Partner, Solicitor and the Head of our Family Law Department. James is based at our Oxford office but also conducts cases in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. James solely and exclusively represents clients within family proceedings.
With vast experience and a depth of knowledge, James is known to be a highly regarded specialist, and provides clients with advice and representation in all areas of family and children law. His particular expertise lies in diligently and skilfully representing the interests of children; receiving instructions through CAFCASS and the Children’s Guardian, in complex care proceedings. He also represents parents in care proceedings, and in private law disputes concerning residence and contact with children, where he has a reputation for approaching his cases both sensitively and constructively.
James was previously a member of the Oxfordshire Family Justice Board, where he represented the area’s legal profession in his role meeting with the Judiciary and other professionals. James is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and conducts the majority of his own advocacy, often involving complex cases and the cross examination of expert witnesses.
