Emily Godsiff

Emily Godsiff is a Solicitor in the family law team based at our Oxford office. She specialises in acting for parents in matters involving Local Authorities and care proceedings; and represents individuals in the Family Proceedings Court, County Court, Family Drugs and Alcohol Court and the High Court, conducting her own advocacy wherever possible to ensure her clients receive a seamless service.

During the course of her practice, Emily has worked on a number of complex cases involving allegations of non-accidental injuries, sexual and physical abuse and cases of neglect and domestic violence. She has also acted for individuals who have learning difficulties, and are represented by the Official Solicitor.

Emily prides herself on offering her clients a robust and detailed service in highly sensitive public law cases, and in establishing and maintaining strong client relationships.  Having spent time defending clients in the criminal justice system at the Police Station and Magistrates Court as a busy duty solicitor, she also has a unique insight into the relationship between criminal and family proceedings. Emily enjoys exceeding her client’s expectations in achieving successful results, which she accomplishes through her pragmatic approach in working with fellow professionals, and in helping client’s access specialist legal advice in other areas of law wherever needed.
